Madzibaba Wimbo: Robert Mugabe's Prophet Dies

Harare - Aaron Mhukuta Gomo - known as Madzibaba Wimbo - a religious leader who prophesied former Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe's rise to power - and that the late MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai would not rule the country, has died aged 96.

The death of the Johane Masowe eChishanu Vadzidzi VaJesu Church founder was confirmed by Mashonaland Central minister Advocate Martin Dinha.

Wimbo is well-known for his prophesy in 1957 that independent Zimbabwe would be led by a man with the name of an angel, Gabriel, which came to pass when Mugabe became the first post-colonial leader in 1980.

He is allegedly to have made a prophecy that the late MDC-T leader Tsvangirai would not rule Zimbabwe.

In 2003, he prophesied that Zimbabwe will use the US dollar as its official currency, and in 1995 he said Gabriel was going to rule the whole of Africa. He further elaborated that he was not referring to Gabriel the angel, but the leader of Zimbabwe.

We only realised the meaning of that prophecy when President Mugabe was appointed African Union chairperson. The religious leader died at Arundel Hospital on the 12th of July 2018 is survived by two wives and 18 children.
